Power Quest #1 - 2nd : Rich Media

Experience user interaction on the different rich media content on the world wide web. Follow the Instructions Below

1. Surf the world wide web. Go to any website that you know and wait until an Ad Appears.
2. Capture it by pressing Print Screen key on your computer keyboard.
3. Paste the captured picture in Miscrosoft Paint (For Windows Based Computers) and MacPaint or Paintbrush (For Apple Based Computers).
4. Save the Image in Portable Network Graphic Format.
5. Visit at-least 10 Different Websites and Repeat Process Number 2,3 and 4. You must compile 10 Different Screen Shots from different Websites.
6. Upload the different Screen shots to TinyPic.com then Copy the Direct URL of the Image and Post Your Screen Shots as a Reply to this Topic.
7. List Down the Characteristics of each captured ads that make it fall under what type of rich media. Place it below each screen shot as a part of your post.
8. Explain why each image falls in that specific type of Rich Media.

1. Tinypic.com

This is considered a rich media site that uses floating media because captcha ads will always pop up before one can upload their photos on the site.

2.Nick-asia.com

This is a rich media site that uses banner advertisements and badges, it also uses a kind of floating media to give reminders to those that enter the site.

3.Y8.com

Similar to the previous site, this site also uses a kind of floating media to ensure users are reminded of certain terms and conditions.

4.Cartoonnetworkasia.com

This site uses a banner ads , badges ,and a floating badge of Ben 10 that leads to games in the site.

5.Stackoverflow.com

This site uses expandable media, because the captcha window will only expand once clicked on. It is commonly used for human verification through the use of text or audio.

6.Scholarshipforstudy.com

This is a site that uses an interstitial form of media, it uses advertisements related to topic but once clicked, users will be redirected to another site that's different.

7.Scholars4dev.com

This is a site that uses an interactive banner to represent the site, also a lot of other advertisement badges about scholarships can be found in this site.

8.collegesscholarship.org

This is also another site that  uses interstitial form of media, it uses advertisements related to topic but once clicked, users will be redirected to another site that's different or probably another scholarship portal.

9.drake.edu

This site uses an advertisement badge that requires a flash player for the video to play.


10.imvu.com

This is a site that uses floating media, since once user is logged on a certain advertisement page pops up above the webpage.

This a website for manga readers. This website also advertise through utilizing banner, badges and floating media to promote other webpages like gaming websites, dating websites and more.

This website is a online game website. This website may sometimes redirect you on advertising pages that will delay your access to the game. Though this feature is rarely experienced.


www.long-shi.com
This Chinese website is not just for Lion and Dragon dancing but it also advertise businesses revolving those arts through banners and badges.

This website contains a lot of banner and badges to promote their own products and offers. This banner and badges redirect you about the porduct description and etc.

This is a gaming website that utilize banners and badges to promote other online games. this is a way to keep the players from League of Legends to take interest in other games.

This is a esport channel that gives the latest news about various gaming community and the esport revolving it. They also usually use banners to advertise other websites beside their own.

This website advertise their sponsors by using banners and badges. alos, this website is notorious for constantly having a lot of advertisement more than its content. This website is created to give live report about the weather.but most of its space is consumed by advertisement.

This website used floating media, where an advertisement would pop out to catch audiences' attentions to subscribe to the website.

2. www.youtube.com

This website uses banners in advertising.



Aside from banner ads, this website also uses in-stream media, where a video ad would play before, during or after the video you intended to watch.

3. www.moneyconnexion.com

This website uses floating media to catch audiences' attentions to try their free training for earning money online. This ad will just pop out of nowhere and you can only close it by clicking the close button. If you don't close it, you can still scroll through the website, but this ad will also move across the webpage.


Apart from floating media, this website also use banners and badges to place advertisements of different parts of the website. It also uses interstitial media, when you click on the banners, you will automatically be linked to a different website.

4. www.hobstudy.forumotion.asia

This website utilizes banners and badges and interstitial media in advertising, when you click on the banners, you will automatically be linked to a different website.

5. www.kissanime.ru

This website contains a lot of  banners and badges, and interstitial media advertisements. 


Something very transitional or interstitial about this website is that when you first open the website, wherever you click, it will automatically open a new tab and link you to an advertising page.

This website uses banners to present the advertisements of different websites and companies. Also, when watching a video in this website, sometimes, in-stream media can appear, where in order to continue your video, you have to finish watching this 15-second advertisement.

This website has a lot of banners and badges, and interstitial media, mostly interstitial. Whenever you click on any of these banners, they will most likely transfer you to an advertisement page that is different than the webpage you requested.
